I’m working on a more substantial craft-focused newsletter for later this month, but I have a lot of Leafskin updates and events that I want to send out, so let’s start the month there.

Leafskin’s Seattle launch is happening on the last day of the month with a stellar reader line up at the always exciting Common Area Maintenance. We’ll be interspersing the readings with inspirational prompts and creating time so you might even leave with a draft of your own!

But before all that, I’ll be joining two very exciting readings at Literary Arts in Portland.
First, I’ll be speaking with my dear friend, Callum Angus (if you aren’t already reading his always thought-provoking newsletter, sex weather climate death, go check it out right now! seriously, we’ll wait.), and the exciting writer [sarah] Cavar about queer and trans nature writing.

And I’m honored to be reading with Portland’s long running reading series Incite: Queer Writers Read, hosted by Vinnie Kinsella and Jennifer Perrine. We’ll be exploring the subject of Ritual, with time for discussions afterwards.

And for all you online and craft talk loving folks, I’m so looking forward to discussing hybrid writing and our new books with the incredible Ellene Glenn Moore for the Brown Bag Lit series. If you want to spend an hour thinking about working across and between poetry and prose, this is a conversation for you.

My publisher, Stillhouse Press, is hosting a Storygraph giveaway of Leafskin and you can enter until May 18. If you’re on Storygraph, you can also add the book to your to read list and leave reviews.
Please let me know when you stumble on Leafskin out in the wild. I’m keeping a little list of bookstores and libraries that I know have physical copies so I can direct people to them. I know, for instance that in Portland, you can now find Leafskin in the small press section at the downtown Powells, as well as at Up Up Books and Literary Arts Bookstore. You’ll also soon be able to borrow a copy at the Multnomah County Library.
